At Sixty
Desert smoke rises straight —
the Tianshan Mountains still tower in my dreams.
At sixteen I put down my pen,
took up arms, and rode the wild waves.
I've watched storms gather and pass,
built and rebuilt in the marketplace —
decades gone in a blink.
They say the old general is past his prime.
I say: the fire hasn't dimmed.
